FREE Summer Archery Sample with the Faribault Falcon ArchersSports & RecreationThe Faribault Falcon Archers would like to invite all kids from grade K to 12 to try out the Genesis bow. These two 2-day camps are for trying out the bow and practice some skills out in the field. This could be an opening to joining one of our teams for the upcoming school year or participate at our FREE kids Saturdays held over the winter. We will be hosting our introductory camp twice this upcoming summer. We will be meeting at the Rice County Fairgrounds by the horse barns.The National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) brings the sport of archery to millions of students in schools across the United States. Faribault Public Schools has taught the NASP archery program in middle school Phy-ed classes for over ten years. The main objectives the class covers are: archery history, safety, technique, equipment, mental concentration, and self-improvement. CHANGING LIVES ONE ARROW AT A TIME… Archery is a life-long sport that engages students of all genders, physical abilities, and backgrounds, even aiding participation in students with disabilities. Archery is a physical activity in which students can participate together and puts athletes and non-athletes on a level playing field. Youth Community TennisYouth Tennis1st–4th Grade Tennis Skills Camp This camp focuses on introducing and developing basic tennis skills in a fun and encouraging environment. Participants will learn fundamentals such as grip, forehand and backhand swings, serving basics, footwork, teamwork, and game play through drills and activities designed for younger players. Please bring a water bottle and tennis shoes each day. 5th–8th Grade Tennis Skills Camp This camp is designed to help older students strengthen their tennis fundamentals while improving technique, strategy, movement, serving, rallying, and match play skills. Players will build confidence, sportsmanship, and overall game knowledge through skill-based instruction and competitive activities. Youth Tennis CampYouth TennisPreK – Kindergarten: Young players will learn basic tennis skills through fun games and activities focused on coordination, movement, listening skills, racket control, and teamwork. Please bring a water bottle and tennis shoes each day. 1st – 4th Grade: Players will build foundational tennis skills including serving, forehands, backhands, footwork, scoring, and sportsmanship through drills and beginner match play. Please bring a water bottle and tennis shoes each day. 5th – 8th Grade: Older players will develop advanced tennis techniques, strategy, consistency, match play skills, and court awareness while building confidence and competitive play experience.
